Amita Aponte is the founder and CEO of Blue Water Healing Clinic LLC, a wellness-focused practice dedicated to helping individuals, children, couples, and families find healing and support through professional therapy services. While not a therapist herself, Amita is deeply committed to creating a safe, compassionate environment where individuals can begin their journey toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.

Driven by a passion for making mental health care accessible and effective, Amita leads a team of qualified therapists who specialize in individual, family, child, and couples counseling. Her leadership is grounded in empathy, integrity, and a genuine desire to see others grow and thrive.

Through Blue Water Healing Clinic, Amita has built more than a practice—she has created a supportive community where healing, growth, and meaningful transformation are possible.

David Goolsby is the CEO of Blue Water Healing Clinic and the Founder of Blue Water Clinician Services, bringing over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. His work has been centered on both expanding access to quality care and building the operational infrastructure that allows clinicians to thrive in private practice.

Throughout his career, David has developed a deep understanding of the clinical, administrative, and business challenges that mental health professionals face. This insight led him to create Blue Water Clinician Services, a comprehensive support model designed to help clinicians navigate credentialing, billing, compliance, and practice development—allowing them to focus fully on client care.

As a leader, David is known for bridging the gap between clinical excellence and operational efficiency. He has played a key role in building systems that support sustainable growth for both individual clinicians and group practices, while also strengthening access to mental health services within the communities he serves.

Through Blue Water Healing Clinic, David is committed to supporting both clients and clinicians. His work reflects an important mission: to create a more accessible, efficient, and clinician-centered mental health system.

Clint William Irwin is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Supervisor with over 18 years of experience in the mental health field. Based in Michigan, he is the founder of Irwin Counseling Service, PLLC, where he has built a reputation for delivering direct, effective, and results-driven counseling to individuals seeking stability, clarity, and personal growth.

As a Clinical Supervisor within Blue Water Healing Clinic’s Clinician-to-Clinician (C2C) Program, Clint provides mentorship and clinical guidance to developing clinicians as they build confidence, strengthen their clinical skills, and navigate ethical decision-making in practice.

Clint’s approach is practical, structured, and grounded in real-world application. He integrates evidence-based techniques with a focus on emotional regulation, problem-solving, and long-term stability—both for clients and the clinicians he supervises. His supervision style emphasizes accountability, clarity, and skill development, helping clinicians move from uncertainty to confidence in their work.

Through the C2C program, Clint is committed to developing competent, ethical, and confident clinicians by providing thoughtful insight, structured support, and meaningful mentorship aligned with the mission of Blue Water Healing Clinic.

Donovan Khamoro

Donovan Khamoro is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Supervisor with Blue Water Healing Clinic’s Clinician-to-Clinician (C2C) Program. He works closely with developing clinicians to strengthen their clinical skills, build professional confidence, and navigate the complexities of ethical decision-making in real-world practice.

Donovan’s supervisory style is collaborative, reflective, and grounded in the core values of the social work profession. He provides a structured yet supportive environment where clinicians can explore challenges, refine their clinical judgment, and develop sustainable approaches to both their work and personal well-being.

His supervision integrates case conceptualization, use of self, ethical considerations, and practical skill development—helping clinicians move beyond uncertainty and into clarity and confidence. Donovan emphasizes that effective clinical practice is not about perfection, but about thoughtful reflection, sound decision-making, and continuous growth.

Through the C2C program, he is committed to creating a professional learning space where clinicians can build resilience, strengthen their identity as practitioners, and grow into competent, ethical, and confident professionals.

Lorin Burke

Clinical Supervisor

Lorin Burke is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor with extensive experience in clinical supervision, leadership, and therapeutic services across both community mental health and private practice settings. She has led and supervised multidisciplinary teams while supporting clinicians in strengthening clinical judgment, ethical decision-making, and culturally responsive care.

As a Clinical Supervisor within Blue Water Healing Clinic’s Clinician-to-Clinician (C2C) Program, Lorin provides guidance and mentorship to developing clinicians seeking to grow in confidence, competence, and professional identity. Her approach is reflective, relational, and grounded in trauma-informed care, helping clinicians deepen their self-awareness while building strong, effective clinical practices.

Lorin is also the founder of The Village: A Space for Healing, a counseling practice dedicated to providing culturally competent mental health services, with a focus on supporting underserved and BIPOC communities. Her work is driven by a commitment to expanding access to quality care and reducing stigma surrounding mental health.

In addition to supervision, Lorin offers consultation and training on topics such as caregiver burnout, workplace wellness, and trauma-informed leadership.

Aleda Dillard

Aleda Dillard is a compassionate counselor serving children, adults, and couples throughout the Detroit metropolitan area. She understands that reaching out for support takes courage and believes healing begins when individuals feel seen, heard, and genuinely supported.

As a Limited Licensed Counselor, Aleda provides client-centered care under clinical supervision, helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions. She is dedicated to creating a safe, collaborative space where clients can grow at their own pace while working toward meaningful and lasting change.

Aleda is a Gottman Level 1 trained couples therapist and incorporates evidence-based approaches into her work. She also offers faith-based counseling upon request, integrating Christian values into the therapeutic process in a way that is respectful, client-led, and aligned with each individual’s goals.

Amber Slaby is a Limited Licensed Master Social Worker specializing in substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Amber is known for her ability to build strong therapeutic relationships and create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore challenges, gain insight, and move toward meaningful change. Her clinical approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and strengths-based techniques while emphasizing the importance of connection, trust, and each person’s lived experience.

Her professional background includes work in outpatient addiction treatment and the treatment court system, where she has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to support individuals navigating complex systems of care. Amber has extensive experience working with clients facing substance use, trauma, and life transitions, helping them develop practical coping strategies and sustainable paths toward recovery.

Amber earned her Master of Social Work from Spring Arbor University, graduating with a 4.0 GPA and membership in the Phi Alpha honor society. Through her work at Blue Water Healing Clinic and Amber Slaby Therapy & Wellness, she is committed to providing compassionate, structured, and client-centered care that supports long-term healing and personal growth.

Toni Lynn Thomas

Because of this belief I have felt that my life experiences both good and bad were going to provide me with skills to help others. I have been in the community service field for most of my adult life. After graduating Wayne State University with my MSW in 2019 I began providing mental health services.

I provide a comprehensive set of strength-based services to help you reach your mental health goals. I am EMDR basic certified, PMTO informed and TF-CBT informed. I work with clients closely in order to achieve measurable results that allow them to push forward with a new, positive mindset. I look forward to exploring your mental health goals with you and helping you to reach them.
